Caenocholax fenyesi en Cuba (Strepsiptera: Myrmecolacidae).

Abstract

El orden Strepsiptera ha sido pobremente estudiado en Cuba. Alayo (1977) ofrece un primer acercamiento al grupo y aporta datos sobre parásitos y hospederos. Este autor menciona la presencia de los machos, de una especie de Caenocholax -colectada a la luz- en el Jardin Botánico de Cienfuegos. Esta especie fue estudiada e identificada por uno de los autores como C. fenyesi Pierce. El material de referencia está depositado en el Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, Ciudad de La Habana. The Strepsiptera order has been poorly studied in Cuba. Alayo (1977) offers a first approach to the group and provides data on parasites and hosts. This author mentions the presence of the males, of a species of Caenocholax -collected to the light- in the Botanical Garden of Cienfuegos. This species was studied and identified by one of the authors as C. fenyesi Pierce. The reference material is deposited in the Museo Nacional de Historia Natural of La Habana.
