Programa de Maestría en Manejo Sostenible de Tierras

Abstract

Los resultados obtenidos en el Programa de Manejo Sostenible de Tierras en Cuba, percibe la necesidad de una mayor integración de los conocimientos, a partir de la formación académica y especializada de investigadores y docentes con una concepción diferente del cómo hacer producir conservando los servicios que brinda el ecosistema al hombre, con un manejo integrado de los recursos naturales en plena armonía con el medio ambiente. Se discuten las características de un programa de maestría en Manejo Sostenible de Tierras. El objetivo principal de esta maestría es dotar de conocimientos y desarrollar habilidades con altos niveles de actualidad, calidad y excelencia a investigadores, docentes y profesionales de las ramas de ciencias agropecuarias, ambientales y del turismo para que sean capaces de realizar trabajos investigativos, de desarrollo e innovación y ejercer funciones docentes en el tema de manejo sostenible de tierras, en respuesta a las necesidades del desarrollo científico y tecnológico actual y su contribución cualitativa y cuantitativa a la seguridad alimentaria. En el proceso de formación de los estudiantes se consideran tres diplomados: Bases conceptuales del manejo sostenible de tierras, Manejo integrado de sistemas agroambientales y Herramientas metodológicas y operacionales del manejo sostenible de tierras. La maestría se centra en la investigación y las prácticas de lucha contra la desertificación y la sequía con un enfoque de manejo sostenible de tierras, e incluirá aspectos interdisciplinares como el cambio climático, el manejo integrado de los recursos naturales, aspectos económicos y sociales. La duración de los estudios es de 36 meses.The results obtained in the Program of Sustainable Land Management in Cuba, perceive the need for a greater integration of knowledge, from the academic and specialized training of researchers and teachers with a different conception of how to produce while preserving the services provided the ecosystem to man, with integrated management of natural resources in full harmony with the environment. The main objective of this master's degree is to provide knowledge and develop skills with high levels of topicality, quality and excellence to researchers, teachers and professionals in the fields of agricultural, environmental and tourism sciences to be able to perform research, development and innovation and exercise teaching functions in the subject of sustainable land management, in response to the needs of current scientific and technological development and its qualitative and quantitative contribution to food security. Three graduates are considered in the student training process: Conceptual bases of sustainable land management, Integrated management of agro-environmental systems and Methodological and operational tools for sustainable land management. The master's degree focuses on research and practices to combat desertification and drought with a sustainable land management approach, and will include interdisciplinary aspects such as climate change, integrated management of natural resources, economic and social aspects.
