Una nueva especie de Erytroxylum en Cuba

Abstract

Se detectó una nueva especie de Erythroxylum en la llanura de Maisi, la parte más oriental de Cuba, que vive en un matorral litoral afectado por el viento. Fue recogido varias veces por diferentes autores en estado estéril y erróneamente identificado. Una abundante colección fértil hecha por el primer autor permitió el reconocimiento y la descripción de una nueva especie como E. armatum. A new Erythroxylum species was detected in the Maisi Plain, eastermost part of Cuba, living in wind-shaven littoral thicket. It was collected several times by dif­ferent authors in sterile state and misidentified. An abundant fertile collection made by the first author permitted the recognition and description of a new species as E. armatum.
