Análisis de los cambios en los paisajes del delta del río Cauto

Abstract

Esta investigación tiene como objetivo analizar los cambios de cobertura (vegetación, cuerpos de agua, arenasos y corrientes superficiales), de las unidades de paisaje a escala local en un área seleccionada del Delta del Río Cauto, ubicado en la provincia Granma en la zona oriental del país. La investigación toma como base el análisis a partir de fotos aéreas del año 1956 e imágenes satelitales del 2001, a través del uso de los SIG (Sistemas de Información Geográfica). Se identificaron cuatro unidades de paisaje en el área de estudio y se determinaron los cambios de las diferentes coberturas analizadas para cada una de ellas, lo cual mostró como resultado, importantes variaciones en relación con las áreas de algunas coberturas en ambos períodos estudiados. This investigation has as objective to analysis the evolution in question to the change in relationship with the covertures (vegetation, water bodies, sand areas and superficial streams), of the landscape units of local character in a selected area of the Delta del Río Cauto, which is localized in the province of Granma in the eastern part of the country. The investigation takes as base the analysis of aerials photos from the year 1956 and satellite’s imagines from year 2001, using the GIS (Geographic Information Systems). Were identified four units of landscape in the area of study and were determined the change in the evolution of the covertures analyzed for every unit, which shows as result important changes in the area of some covertures in the two period studied.
