Riesgos naturales y percepción

Abstract

Las actividades relacionadas con el “Taller Riesgos Naturales y Percepción” iniciaron en el año 2000, en el marco del proyecto “Saber Ambiental”, ejecutado conjuntamente por el Instituto de Estudios Sociales y Población (IDESPO) y el Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica (OVSICORI), de la Universidad Nacional. El proyecto consiste en la aplicación de la metodología de elaboración de mapas de percepción del riesgo en escuelas públicas. El análisis de la información de los mapas y la comprobación de campo fue realizada por estudiantes del curso optativo “Riesgos Naturales y Percepción”, impartido por OVSICORI, de la Universidad Nacional. El objetivo final del taller es el desarrollo de una unidad didáctica para la enseñanza primaria, en el campo de los riesgos naturales. Para realizar este taller se ha contado con la participación de distintas instituciones que de una u otra forma han colaborado. Este es el caso del Ministerio de Educación Pública y el 911 Emergencias, la Comisión Nacional de Prevención y Atención de Emergencias de Costa Rica (CNE), la empresa privada, la Agencia de Cooperación Internacional del Japón.
