Distribución de carbono en un ecosistema de Panicum maximum, en ambiente modificado por el pastoreo.

Abstract

Se determinó la biomasa verde y muerta, y la cantidad de hojarasca y raíces, en un pastizal de Panicum maximum Jacq., en los alrededores de La Habana. Se comparan estos datos con los obtenidos en un pastizal con pastoreo en esa misma área. Se encontraron diferencias en la distribución de carbono cn el sistema planta-suelo y se discuten las modificaciones que en esta distribución introduce el pastoreo. The green and dead biomass and the amount of litter and roots were determined in a pasture of Panicum maximum Jacq., In the surroundings of Havana. These data are compared with those obtained in a pasture with grazing in that same area. Differences were found in the carbon distribution in the plant-soil system and the modifications introduced in this distribution by grazing are discussed
