Abstract

Durante el presente año 2003 los principales resultados obtenidos por el Instituto de Ecología y Sistemática en cuanto a los impactos científico, medio ambiental y social de los resultados de los proyectos de investigación se resumen en la Instrumentación y aplicación del monitoreo de la diversidad biológica. Se adquirieron nuevos conocimientos de la biota cubana. Se crearon bases para la protección, conservación y desarrollo de los recursos naturales del país. Profundización del conocimiento de los ecosistemas terrestres y su funcionamiento. Manejo integrado de las zonas costeras. Ampliar los conocimientos relacionados con los cambios climáticos y sus efectos. Se determinó fortalecer la capacidad del país en las evaluaciones alternativas de utilización de los recursos naturales. Preparación de compendios de resultados para su evaluación como Premio ACC. En la producción científica alcanzada por la institución se destacan algunos libros de corte científico y científico-divulgativo.
