The proposed standardized model for natural areas is based on four planning pillars: beneficiaries, basic and tourism services, nature and adventure tourism (outdoors), and infrastructure and promotion. It must also comply with two key aspects of managing a protected natural area with tourism uses related to environmental research and conservation: the provision of quality tourism services and activities under a best practices framework. The purpose of this research is to develop a sustainable tourism management model for biodiversity conservation, based on these four planning pillars: beneficiaries, basic and tourism services, nature and adventure tourism (outdoors), and infrastructure and promotion. It is important to highlight the development of three phases: The study area, Machalilla National Park, was delimited and characterized, identifying socioeconomic and environmental aspects; a tourism analysis of the supply was carried out; the potential tourist was identified as a young university segment; in addition, the management processes applied in the wetlands were known, determining that these do not have efficient planning, generating problems in the territory; tools such as interviews, surveys, and diagnostic matrices were applied.es_ES
