Los Árboles, las Aves de la Ciudad y Yo: Proyecto de Ciencia Ciudadana del Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, de Cuba.

Abstract

Se exponen los resultados del taller “Los árboles, las aves de la ciudad y yo” con sede en el Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, de Cuba (MNHN). Este taller, bajo los preceptos de Ciencia Ciudadana se realizó por primera vez en el Museo, con 25 niños, de 7mo grado, de la Escuela Secundaria Básica José Martí, del municipio Habana Vieja. El problema a investigar fue: ¿Cómo varía la cantidad y tipos de aves que visitan algunos árboles en mi ciudad, y durante un período de 7 meses se encaminaron las acciones para: a) estimular en los niños el desarrollo de capacidades investigativas, b) contribuir al conocimiento de los principales valores de su entorno inmediato, c) propiciar el acopio de información útil sobre la historia natural de algunas especies de aves y árboles en la ciudad y su posible interrelación; así como también, d) propiciar su participación activa como multiplicadores del conocimiento en su comunidad. The results of the workshop "The trees, the birds of the city and me" are exhibited, based at the National Museum of Natural History of Cuba (MNHN). This workshop, under the precepts of Citizen Science was held for the first time in the Museum, with 25 children, 7th grade, José Martí Basic Secondary School, municipality of Habana Vieja. The problem to be investigated was: How do the numbers and types of birds that visit some trees in my city vary and during a period of 7 months did the actions: (a) stimulate the development of research capacities in children; (b) To contribute to the knowledge of the main values of their immediate environment; c) to promote the collection of useful information about the natural history of some species of birds and trees in the city and their possible interrelation; As well as, d) foster their active participation as knowledge multipliers in their community.
