Reporte de exploraciones herpetofaunísticas en tres localidades del municipio de Holguín, Cuba

Abstract

Se listan cinco especies de anfibios y 24 de reptiles para tres localidades del municipio de Holguín. Las observaciones se realizaron en recorridos aleatorios en diferentes tipos de hábitats, durante mayo y agosto de 2017. Las familias con mayor riqueza de especies fueron: Eleutherodactylidae (3) y Dactyloidae (8). Se reporta por primera vez Sphaerodactylus argus para la provincia de Holguín y dos nuevas localidades para Typhlops silus. Se señala la importancia del área de estudio para la conservación de los reptiles. A list of five species of amphibians and 24 of reptiles is provided for three localities in the municipality of Holguín. Observations were carried out in randomized trials of different habitats types during May and August 2017. The families with the higher species richness were: Eleutherodactylidae (3) and Dactyloidae (8). Sphaerodactylus argus was reported by first time for the Holguín province and a two new record for Typhlops silus. The importance of the study area for the conservation of reptiles is commented.
