Abstract

La Isla de la Juventud tiene un área de 2,202 km2 y es la isla más grande del archipiélago de Canarreos, la segunda isla más grande del archipiélago cubano y la sexta más grande de todas las Antillas. En la parte norte del IY hay cuatro sierras importantes que son los hábitats del mayor número de moluscos terrestres en el IY: Sierra de las Casas, Sierra de Caballos, Sierra Colombo y Sierra Bibijagua.
