Abstract

Presentamos el hallazgo de siete nidos de Totí (Dives atroviolaceus) en cavidades rocosas dentro del Área Protegida Topes de Collantes, localizada en el macizo montañoso Guamuhaya, al centro-sur de Cuba. Este es el primer reporte de anidación de esta especie de la familia Icteridae en este tipo de sustrato. Describimos y ofrecemos nuestras consideraciones sobre la conducta de las aves y los sitios donde fueron construidos los nidos. Abstract. We present the finding of seven nests of Totí (Dives atroviolaceus) at rocky cavities inside the protected area Topes de Collantes, located in the Guamuhaya mountainous group of the southern center of Cuba. This is the first nesting report of this species of the Icteridae family at this kind of substratum. We describe and offered our considerations on the behavior of the birds and the places where the nests were built.
