Reporte de blanqueamiento de corales del año 2007 en Cuba

Abstract

Es interesante observar que hubo blanqueamiento en varios sitios de Cuba a pesar de que no eran pronosticados por las imágenes de HotSpots y de DHW del satélite NOAA/NESDIS (ver mapas en páginas anteriores). Por otra parte, se produjeron intensidades de blanqueamiento por encima de las pronosticadas en: (1) Punta Francés y María la Gorda, donde se pronosticaba menos blanqueamiento; (2) Bahía de Cochinos y región norte Habana-Matanzas (donde no se pronosticaba blanqueamiento), y en otros sitios, en menor cuantía. Hubo bastante coincidencia con los pronósticos en el blanqueamiento moderado de corales en el centro del Archipiélago Sabana- Camagüey y en el muy escaso blanqueamiento en la mitad sur oriental de Cuba. Is interesting to observe that there was blñeaching in several sites of Cuba while not were predicted by them images of HotSpots and of DHW of the satellite NOAA / NESDIS (see maps in pages previous). On the other hand, is produced intensities of bleaching above them forecasted in: (1) tip French and Maria the fat, where is predicted less bleaching; (2) Bay of pigs and Northern Matanzas (where bleaching is not predicted), and in other places, in small claims. There was quite coincidence with them forecasts in the bleaching moderate of corals in the center of the archipelago Sabana-Camagüey and in the very scarce bleaching in it half South Eastern of Cuba.
