The Group of Cuban Plant Specialists (GEPC) in collaboration with other experts analyzed the conservation status of 1 739 taxa; of which 537 are threatened (A), 76 near threatened (NT) and 661 (Least Concern). A significant aspect was the evaluation, for the first time in the scope of the GEPC, of the state of conservation of bryophytes. This time, 50 families of mosses were analyzed, with a total of 371 taxa. Considering the taxa published in this volume, 4 783 taxa have been analyzed so far, representing 63 percent of the 7,500 taxa estimated to have Cuban flora (including Magnoliophyta, Pinophyta, Pteridophyta and Briophyta). Of the taxa evaluated, 45% fall within one of the threat categories. (automatic translation)
