Especies fitotóxicas, venenosas o cáusticas en la Reserva de la Biosfera Península de Guanahacabibes, Cuba

Abstract

La Reserva de Biosfera Península de Guanahacabibes ocupa un territorio de 101 500 ha donde se establecen cinco asentamientos con una densidad de población de 10 habitantes por km2, cuya actividad económica se vincula con la pesca, apicultura, actividad forestal y la extracción de cujes para el tabaco, por el uso que el campesinado hace de las plantas que les rodean es necesario informarles sobre aquellas que resultan fitotóxicas, venenosas o cáusticas a los humanos o animales, con el fin de evitar fatales accidentes. Se cuantificaron los táxones presentes y se efectuaron encuestas para conocer aquellas que la población utilizaba en la región. The Peninsula de Guanahacabibes Biosphere Reserve occupies a territory of 101 500 ha where five settlements are established with a population density of 10 inhabitants per km2, whose economic activity is linked to fishing, beekeeping, forestry and the extraction of cujes for the tobacco, for the use that the peasantry makes of the plants that surround them, it is necessary to inform them about those that are phytotoxic, poisonous or caustic to humans or animals, in order to avoid fatal accidents. The taxa present were quantified and surveys were carried out to know those that the population used in the region.
