La Geografía permite conocer al hombre y al mundo en que vive mediante su sistema categorial básico, que está representado por los términos, territorio, espacio, lugar, paisaje, región y población, entre otros más. El análisis y comprensión de las prácticas sociales y ambientales para una conveniente intervención en ellas, se fundamenta en el dominio de los conocimientos de estas categorías y de los modos de actuación con las mismas, en vínculo estrecho con sentimientos, actitudes y valores positivos, que son manifestación indispensable de la identidad y la cultura nacional. La educación geográfica, mediada por el arreglo pedagógico, refleja en las asignaturas el objeto de estudio de la ciencia en sus dimensiones cognitiva, procedimental y axiológica, y es vehículo idóneo para la formación y profundización del potencial ético y cultural de la Geografía. El objetivo de este trabajo consiste precisamente en abordar la contribución del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje geográfico a la formación de una cultura general integral de niños, adolescentes y jóvenes en unidad con los antecedentes históricos del surgimiento de la nación cubana, y la preservación de los valores éticos y culturales mediante símbolos. The analysis and understanding of social and environmental practices for a suitable intervention in them, is based on the mastery of the knowledge of these categories and the ways of acting with them, in close connection with feelings, attitudes and positive values, which they are an indispensable manifestation of the national identity and culture. Geographic education, mediated by the pedagogical arrangement, reflects in the subjects the object of study of science in its cognitive, procedural and axiological dimensions, and is the ideal vehicle for the formation and deepening of the ethical and cultural potential of Geography. The objective of this work is precisely to address the contribution of the process of geographical teaching to the formation of a comprehensive general culture of children, adolescents and youth in unity with the historical background of the emergence of the Cuban nation, and the preservation of values ethical and cultural symbols.
