Fitorrecursos en la Reserva de la Biosfera Península de Guanahacabibes, Cuba

Abstract

Con el fin de determinar los recursos fitosentes existentes, se realizó un estudio etnobotánico en la Reserva de la Biosfera Península de Guanahacabibes. Se colectaron especies y se realizaron entrevistas sobre sus usos. Se obtuvo un inventario florístico que comprende 544 taxones, 525 con al menos un único uso conocido. Los usos fueron: medicinal (390), material almacenado (317), ambiental (269), producción de miel (162), social (107), comestible (108), fuding animal (104) y combustible (40). Una sola especie puede tener más de un uso. In order to determine extant phytoresources an ethnobotanical survey was made in the Biosphere Reserve Península de Guanahacabibes. Species were collected and interviews concerning their uses were performed. A floristic inventory comprising 544 taxa was obtained, 525 having at least a single known use. Uses were: medicinal (390), material stock (317), environmental (269), honey-yielding (162), social (107), edible (108), animal-fuding (104) and fuel (40).
