| dc.description.abstract | Este artículo, primero de una serie sobre algas cubanas de agua dulce y cianoprocariotas, ofrece un estudio florístico y taxonómico de los Euglenales pigmentados (Euglenophyta). Se basa principalmente en estudios LM de varios biotopos cubanos de agua dulce distribuidos en 281 localidades. Proporciona citas, localidades y dimensiones de los taxones tratados en esta revisión, proporciona también información sobre ecología y distribución junto con ilustraciones, la mayoría de las cuales son originales. Se incluyen comentarios taxonómicos adicionales sobre las peculiaridades de las poblaciones cubanas. Euglena Ehrenb., no fue tratada, sin embargo, algunas especies del género se mencionan en el texto. En total, el documento comprende 5 géneros y 47 especies (algunas de ellas con taxones infraespecíficos) que habitan las aguas dulces cubanas, principalmente cuerpos de agua eutróficos en pie. This paper, first of a series concerning Cuban freshwater algae and cyanoprocariotes, offers a floristic and taxonomic survey of the pigmented Euglenales (Euglenophyta). It is based primarly on LM studies of various Cuban freshwater biotopes distributed in 281 localities. It provides citations, localities and dimensions of the taxa treated in this review, provides also informations on ecology and distribution together with illustrations, the majority of which are original. Additional taxonomic comments about the peculiarities of the Cuban populations are included. Euglena Ehrenb., was not treated, however some species of the genus are mentioned in the text. In all, the paper comprises 5 genera and 47 species (some of them with infraspecific taxa) that inhabit Cuban freshwaters, mainly standing eutrophic water bodies. The best represented genera were Trachelomonas Ehrenb. and Phacus Duj.
