Procesamiento de imágenes satelitales en la caracterización de la cuenca media y baja del Catatumbo

Abstract

Este estudio converge a la caracterización geomorfológica y de cobertura vegetal de la cuenca media y baja del Catatumbo ubicada en el Departamento Norte de Santander de Colombia, utilizando software e imágenes satelitales de sensores remotos para observar a través de los años la intervención del hombre en la misma. Es por ello que se plantea la utilización de herramientas tecnológicas como lo son las imágenes Landsat y los software ENVI 4.1 y Arc View 3.2 para hacer la caracterización de la hoya hidrológica, y realizar un balance hídrico buscando finalmente establecer la relación que tienen la variación de los caudales del sistema hídrico con la intervención del hombre en la cuenca.
