Concepción estratégica para implementar la adaptación al cambio climático en la Universidad Médica Cubana

Abstract

El Ministerio de Educación Superior, desde la gestión sistemática de los procesos, persigue el logro de una universidad integrada, innovadora y pertinente, que impacte de manera significativa en el desarrollo humano y sostenible de la sociedad cubana a partir de la formación integral de profesionales comprometidos con su país y su territorio. El cambio climático constituye un formidable desafío al que el ser humano debe hacer frente, las universidades no pueden mantenerse ajenas al mismo y deben orientar su actividad a aumentar la conciencia sobre el cambio climático y capacitar para un desempeño profesional acorde a las necesidades que plantea una realidad compleja a la que hay que dar respuesta desde todas las áreas de conocimiento. En las universidades de Ciencias Médicas no existe una estrategia integrada para incorporar la adaptación al cambio climático en cada una de las funciones sustantivas que realiza, por lo que el objetivo de esta investigación consistió en: Elaborar una estrategia que facilite la adaptación al cambio climático en la universidad médica cubana, esto favorecerá ejecutar las políticas, hacer cumplir las normas y promover las medidas de adaptación al cambio climático que permitirán comprender, enfrentar, atenuar, mitigar y adaptarse a sus efectos, promover cambios de actitudes y comportamientos en las personas acordes con el desarrollo sostenible, y así formar una nueva generación de ciudadanos conscientes del cambio climático.
