Las afectaciones al entorno, incluyendo las correspondientes a la degradación de los suelos, la pérdida de la biodiversidad, la contaminación de las aguas terrestres y marinas y otras, así como las influencias negativas consiguientes producidas en el bienestar de los habitantes del planeta, sobre todo de los más desfavorecidos de ellos, han alcanzado tan alto grado, que reclaman la atención de gobiernos, comunidades, organizaciones, en fin, de todos, para trabajar en la búsqueda de vías y proyectos que permitan recuperar y reponer al menos parte de lo perdido o afectado.
