Dos nuevas especies de nematodos (Oxyurida, Hystrignathidae) parásitos de Passalus interstitialis Escholtz, 1829 (Coleoptera, Passalidae) de Cuba y una nueva localidad para Longior similis Morffe, García & Ventosa, 2009

Abstract

Se describen dos nuevas especies de hystrignathids (Oxyurida: Hystrignathidae) como parásitos de Passalus interstitialis Escholtz, 1829 de Cuba. Hystrignathus espléndidas sp. norte. difiere de H. infl atus Travassos & Kloss, 1957 por tener los huevos acanalados, cuerpo más grueso y cola más corta, y de H. tarda (Artigas, 1928) por sus huevos siendo acanalados y más grandes. Lepidonema magnum sp. norte. se puede diferenciar de L. brasiliensis Travassos & Kloss, 1957 por la extensión de las alas laterales, longitud del primer anillo cefálico y el cuerpo más robusto. Se diferencia de L. teresae García, Ventosa & Morff e, 2009 por el esófago y la cola siendo comparativamente más corto. L. bifurcata Cobb, 1898 se diferencia de la nueva especie por tener la punta de la cola bifurcada. L. caracae Kloss, 1962 tiene alas laterales más extendidas y un esófago más corto. Claves del cubano se dan especies de Hystrignathus y Lepidonema. Longior similis Morff e, García & Ventosa, 2009 es registrado desde El Pan de Matanzas, Provincia de Matanzas, Cuba. Two new species of hystrignathids (Oxyurida: Hystrignathidae) are described as parasites of Passalus interstitialis Escholtz, 1829 from Cuba. Hystrignathus splendidus sp. n. diff ers from H. infl atus Travassos & Kloss, 1957 by having the eggs ridged, a stouter body and a shorter tail, and from H. tarda (Artigas, 1928) by its eggs being ridged and larger. Lepidonema magnum sp. n. can be diff erentiated from L. brasiliensis Travassos & Kloss, 1957 by the extension of the lateral alae, length of the fi rst cephalic annule and the stouter body. It diff ers from L. teresae García, Ventosa & Morff e, 2009 by the esophagus and tail being comparatively shorter. L. bifurcata Cobb, 1898 diff ers from the new species by having the tail tip bifurcated. L. caracae Kloss, 1962 has more extended lateral alae and a shorter esophagus. Keys to the Cuban species of Hystrignathus and Lepidonema are given. Longior similis Morff e, García & Ventosa, 2009 is recorded from El Pan de Matanzas, Matanzas Province, Cuba.
