Los geoservicios de la infraestructura de datos espaciales en el instituto de Geografía Tropical de Cuba

Abstract

La Infraestructura de Datos Espaciales (IDE) constituye una solución de dimensión internacional que se ha amplificado con la introducción de nuevas tecnologías, transformando las pautas de producción y difusión en todas las áreas. El trabajo en conjunto y la interoperabilidad de las aplicaciones geomáticas e informativas tienen vigencia en el proceso organizacional que se lleva a cabo en Cuba. A través del siguiente trabajo se intenta promover una serie de líneas, que permitirán difundir las investigaciones recientes, referentes a los geoservicios desarrollados en el Instituto de Geografía Tropical (IGT). En este sentido se ha creado un marco común de actuación; un Geoportal de conocimiento e interacción (IDEGEO). El mismo responde a la necesidad de integración y accesibilidad a la información geográfica digital. La IDE del IGT está concebida con el empleo de software libre. Actualmente se implementa el Servicio de Catálogo; personalizado y cumpliendo con las exigencias de una IDE ambiental. En la visualización y consulta de información geográfica en la intranet, se utiliza el servicio de mapas estándar Web Map Server (WMS), sincronizado con un gestor de base de dato relacional. Se puede combinar, usar y gestionar geodatos de diferentes fuentes y acceder a parte de la cobertura de una malla ofrecida por un servidor gracias a la utilización de Web Feature Service (WFS) y Web Coverage Service (WCS). Las acciones han facilitado el acceso, intercambio y uso responsable de los datos geoespaciales de la institución, a un costo razonable, basados en normas y estándares. The Spatial Data Infrastructure (IDE) is a solution with an international dimension that has been amplified with the introduction of new technologies, transforming the patterns of production and dissemination in all areas. The joint work and the interoperability of the geomatic and information applications are valid in the organizational process that is carried out in Cuba. Through the following work, an attempt is made to promote a series of lines, which will allow the dissemination of recent research, referring to the geoservices developed at the Institute of Tropical Geography (IGT). In this sense, a common framework for action has been created; a Knowledge and Interaction Geoportal (IDEGEO). It responds to the need for integration and accessibility to digital geographic information. The IGT IDE is conceived with the use of free software. Currently the Catalog Service is implemented; customized and complying with the demands of an environmental SDI. In the visualization and consultation of geographic information on the intranet, the standard map service Web Map Server (WMS) is used, synchronized with a relational database manager. You can combine, use and manage geodata from different sources and access part of the coverage of a grid offered by a server thanks to the use of Web Feature Service (WFS) and Web Coverage Service (WCS).
