Abstract

Se reportan las características del tejido epidérmico foliar de la especie Swartzia cubensis (Britt et Wilson) León (Leguminosae), presente en la flora cubana, tomando en consideración parámetros de tipo cualitativo y cuantitativo. Los datos aportados contribuirán a un mayor conocimiento de la especie, así como para apoyar la actual tendencia de situar la tribu a la cual pertenece esta especie (Swartzieae) en la subfamilia Papilionoideae, a la luz de recientes investigaciones en diversos campos.The characteristics of the foliar epidermal tissue of the species Swartzia cubensis (Britt et Wilson) León (Leguminosae), present in the Cuban flora, are reported, taking into consideration qualitative and quantitative parameters. The data provided will contribute to a better knowledge of the species, as well as to support the current trend of placing the tribe to which this species belongs (Swartzieae) in the subfamily Papilionoideae, in light of recent research in various fields.
