Representatividad de las algas marinas en la colección del Herbario del Instituto de Ecología y Sistemática (HAC), Cuba

Abstract

En el herbario del Instituto de Ecología y Sistemática se conserva la colección de algas marinas más antigua del país, con folias colectadas desde 1900 hasta 1960. Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron determinar la representatividad de las macroalgas marinas cubanas, actualizar la taxonomía y presentar la lista sistemática de las 500 folias depositadas. Esta colección fue organizada siguiendo el criterio de la literatura más actual. Se confeccionó la lista sistemática. En total se encuentran depositadas 101 especies, de las cuales 40 son Chlorophytas, 43 Rhodophytas y 18 Ochrophytas lo cual representa un 21% del número de especies consignadas para Cuba. Se actualizó el nombre en 54 folias de 26 especies que estaban en sinonimia. De ellas 13 especies pertenecen a las verdes, cinco a las pardas y ocho a las rojas. Se confirma la presencia de la especie Chrysymenia enteromorpha Harvey para aguas cubanas. The Institute of Ecology and Systematic Herbarium, the oldest collection of marine algae in the country, keeps herbarium specimens collected since 1900 up to 1960. The objectives of this work was to determine the representativeness of the Cuban marine macroalgae respect to the whole amount of algae reports up to day, to actualize the taxonomic names, and to show the systematic list of 500 herbarium specimens placed there. This collection was organized following an approaching of the most recent literature. An actualized systematic list was made. The species identified were 101, which 40 of them was Chlorophytas, 43 Rhodophytas and 18 Ochrophytas; all of them represent 21% of the whole number of species reported for Cuban archipelago. Was changed and actualized 54 names herbarium specimens, belonging to 26 species that were in synonymy. 13 species of them belonged to the green ones, 5 to brown, and 8 to red ones. The presence of the species Chrysymenia enteromorpha Harvey for Cuban waters is confirmed. (sic)
