El melange ofiolítico de Holguín y sus características estructurales

Abstract

El melange ofiolítico de Holguín se encuentra en posición alóctona, obducida sobre el margen continental norteamericano, formando un modelo típico de tectónica pelicular. Dentro del melange se distinguen tres formaciones tectogenéticas y se diferencian dos tipos genéticos de olistostromas. La estructura Anticlinorio de Holguín está constituida por una sucesión de escamas imbricadas de vergencia N-NE. Este conjunto de diferentes escamas se agrupa formando tres mantos tectónicos principales. Estos mantos y sus distintas láminas o escamas están constituidas por los componentes de un melange ofiolítico y se formaron por un desarrollo progresivo hacia el antepaís entre el campaniano superior-eoceno medio. olguín's ophiolitic melange is found in an allochthonous position, over the North American continental margin, forming a typical model of film tectonics. Within the melange three tectogenética formations are distinguished and two genetic types of olistostromas are differentiated. The structure of the Anticlinorio de Holguin is constituted by a succession of imbricated scales of vergence N-NE. This set of different scales is grouped forming three main tectonic mantles. These mantles and their different laminae or scales are constituted by the components of an ophiolitic melange and were formed by a progressive development towards the foreland between the upper Campanian-Middle Eocene.
