Las condiciones de calor sofocante en la región central de Cuba

Abstract

Se comparan los resultados obtenidos al aplicar dos métodos para estudiar la sensación de calor sofocante en la región central de Cuba, utilizando los datos de muchos años (1955-1970) de la estación meteorológica de Santa Clara (Universidad). Se confeccionaron los diagramas representativos de las oscilaciones diarias y mensuales de la sensación de calor sofocante, mostrándose el cambio estacional notable de este índice bioclimático. Se efectúa una modificación del método de cálculo propuesto por Goguishvili para estimar la sensación de calor sofocante, lo que permite el uso del complejo temperatura – humedad relativa del aire para el estudio de dicho elemento. Se incluyen recomendaciones de uso práctico para el cálculo del índice "I", así como tablas y diagramas que ilustran el texto. The results obtained are compared by applying two methods to study the sensation of suffocating heat in the central region of Cuba, using the data of many years (1955-1970) of the meteorological station of Santa Clara (University). The diagrams were made representative of the daily and monthly oscillations of the sensation of suffocating heat, showing the remarkable seasonal change of this bioclimatic index. A modification of the calculation method proposed by Goguishvili is made to estimate the sensation of suffocating heat, which allows the use of the complex temperature - relative humidity of the air for the study of said element. Practical use recommendations are included for the calculation of the index "I", as well as tables and diagrams that illustrate the text.
