| dc.description.abstract | En el presente trabajo utilizamos cuatro variables potenciales para el pronóstico de turbonadas en dos provincias cubanas, siendo éstas: diferencia de espesor, temperatura potencial de bulbo húmedo, presión superficial, y déficit de saturación en dos niveles. Todas estas variables se obtienen del sondeo de las 1200Z de la estación Casablanca. Mediante un método estadístico se obtienen los valores críticos de cada una de las variables estudiadas, que determinan si el pronóstico será o no de ocurrencia de turbonadas en la región estudiada. Los mejores predictores fueron el déficit de saturación, la temperatura potencial de bulbo húmedo, y la combinación de éstos. Se dan algunas recomendaciones para la futura utilización del pronóstico. In the present work we use four potential variables for the prognosis of squalls in two Cuban provinces, these being: thickness difference, wet bulb potential temperature, surface pressure, and saturation deficit at two levels. All these variables are obtained from the 1200Z survey of the Casablanca station. By means of a statistical method, the critical values of each of the variables studied are obtained, which determine whether or not the forecast will be the occurrence of squalls in the studied region. The best predictors were the saturation deficit, the wet bulb potential temperature, and the combination of these. Some recommendations are given for the future use of the forecast. | es_ES |
