Abstract

En diferente acuatorios cubanos se hallaron cuatro raras cianofíceas hormogonales, con heterocistes y acinetos desarrollados. Una especie fue descrita anteriormente para Asia tropical bajo el nombre Anabaena volzii, pero corresponde con la diagnosis del género Aphanlzomenon, por lo que debe ser transferida a éste. En esta alga se investigó la morfología de los filamentos y se revisaron comparativamente las características del género Aphanizomenon y Anabaena. Las otras tres especies encontradas se asemejan por sus caracteres diacríticos, al género Fortiea; dos de ellas relacionadas especialmente con F. bossei; sin embargo, se diferencian entre sí en algunos caracteres importantes, por lo que se tratan como táxones independientes (f. cf, bossei y la otra como especie nueva para la ciencia). La tercera especie se diferencia claramente en su morfología y ecología de las demás especies descritas hasta ahora dentro del género, por lo que se describe como especie nueva para la ciencia. The third species clearly differs in its morphology and ecology from the other species described so far within the genus, which is why it is described as a new species for science.
