Evaluación de las potencialidades melíferas en el Municipio de Artemisa.

Abstract

El reciente crecimiento de la producción apícola, impulsado por el aumento en los precios de la miel y las políticas agrarias de estímulo a esta actividad, ha despertado el interés de los productores y especialistas por conocer las áreas con potencialidades para la apicultura en el municipio de Artemisa. La presente investigación persigue el objetivo de evaluar las potencialidades del territorio a partir de la temporalidad de las especies de plantas melíferas. Para ello, se realizaron cuatro mapas que reflejan el comportamiento de los potenciales en los distintos trimestres del año, con un análisis espacial en la distribución de los apiarios. Este estudio demostró que en el municipio solo se evidencian dos tipos de potenciales: medios, localizados al norte de la región en los meses de enero a marzo y al sur en la zona de mangles, durante los meses de abril, mayo y junio; mientras en el resto de la región se mantienen potenciales bajos a través de todo el año, con un predominio de especies de sostenimiento y bejucos asociados a zonas de cultivos y vegetación secundaria. The recent growth of apiculture production, driven by the increase in the prices of honey and agricultural policies to stimulate this activity, has aroused the interest of producers and specialists to know the areas with potential for beekeeping in the municipality of Sagebrush. The present investigation pursues the objective of evaluating the potentialities of the territory from the temporality of the species of honey plants. For this, four maps were made that reflect the behavior of the potentials in the different quarters of the year, with a spatial analysis in the distribution of the apiaries. This study showed that in the municipality there are only two types of potential: medium, located north of the region in the months of January to March and south in the area of mangroves, during the months of April, May and June; while in the rest of the region low potentials remain throughout the year, with a predominance of sustaining species and vines associated with crop areas and secondary vegetation.
