Abstract

The Strategic Environmental Evaluation is a tool for environmental management that is applied to identify the environmental impacts of a policy, plan or program and its alternatives. Its application in Cuba is recent, and becomes important among other things for their relationship with environmental planning and sustainable development of territories. The aim of this paper is to establish a conceptual framework on the issue and to propose methodological procedures for conducting such study in the country.
