Características florísticas y fisionómicas de la vegetación boscosa de las sierras Najasa, Guaicanámar y Cerros Cachimbos, municipio Najasa, Camagüey, Cuba

Abstract

Se estudia la vegetación boscosa de las sierras Najasa, Guaicanámar y Cerros Cachimbos del municipio Najasa, al S de la provincia de Camagüey, en las que se delimitó el complejo de vegetación de mogotes, conformado por la vegetación de farallones y el bosque semideciduo mesófilo. También se valoraron las comunidades de sustitución o vegetación secundaria, entre ellas, las sabanas antrópicas. En el inventario florístico se reportan 174 especies, a las cuales se les determinó sus relaciones fitogeográficas. Se señalan 20 especies endémicas (11,4 %); además, al analizar las colectas sobre la base de su importancia utilitaria, se obtuvieron resultados que destacan la importancia económica de estas localidades. Se proponen diferentes categorías proteccionistas para estas elevaciones, con el objetivo fundamental de proteger las estructuras de la vegetación y el genofondo existente: Reserva Natural para la Sierra de Guaicanámar, y Bosque Nacional para los Cerros Cachimbos y la Sierra de Najasa. The forest vegetation is being studied in Najasa, Guaicanámar and Cachimbos Hills, mountains situated in the South of Camagüey, municipality of Najasa. These we can find: Complex of vegetation of hillock, shaped by the vegetation of headland and Mesophyll semideciduous forests; also the Communities of sustitution or secondary vegetation were appraised; among them the anthropic savannas. In the florist inventary 174 species were reported; all this bringing about their phytogeographic relations. Twenty endemic taxa are presented, making a rate of 11,4 %; besides when analyzing the collections about the basis of it utilitarian importance, results which outstand the economic importance, these localities, were obtained. There are proposed different proteccionist categories for these hills, with the fundamental objective of protecting the vegetation structures and the existing genetic characteristics: Natural Reservation for the Guaicanámar Mountains. and Natural Forest for the Cachimbos Hills and the Najasa Mountains.
