Especies exóticas invasoras en el Jardín Botánico de Pinar del Río, Cuba

Abstract

Por la importancia de las especies exóticas en las invasiones biológicas a nivel mundial y del peso que está tomando el tema como factor de degradación ambiental y de pérdida de la biodiversidad, se realizó el estudio de las especies invasoras presentes en el área del Jardín Botánico de Pinar del Río, en el período enero 2011 a septiembre 2011. Se presenta la lista de las principales especies invasoras y su incidencia en diferentes áreas del centro, con la intención de impulsar los trabajos de investigación en esta línea en los diferentes Jardines Botánicos de Cuba, hasta el momento aun escasos. Como resultado de ello, se identifican 31 especies exóticas invasoras, lo cual representa el 5% del total de especies presentes en el centro. Las áreas de mayor presencia de estas especies dentro del Jardín Botánico son el sendero de plantas dicotiledóneas y el área denominada plantas forestales, encontrándose 5 de las especies invasoras catalogadas como las más agresivas para Cuba. For the importance of the exotic species in the biological invasions at world level and of the weight that is taking the topic like factor of environmental degradation and of loss of the biodiversity, is carried out the study of the invasive species present in the area of Botanical Garden of Pinar del Río, in the period January 2011 to September 2011. It is presented the list of the main invasive species and their incidence in different areas of the center, with the intention of impelling the investigation works in this line in the different Botanical Gardens of Cuba, until the moment even scarce. As a result of it, 31 exotic and invasive species are identified, which represents 5% of the total of present species in the center. The areas of bigger presence of these species inside the Botanical Garden are the path of dicotyledonous plants and the area denominated Forest plants, being 5 of the invasive species classified as the most aggressive for Cuba.
