Algunos métodos cartográficos aplicados en estudios de geografía de la agricultura

Abstract

A través de la evolución de los estudios geográficos de la agricultura, a nivel mundial, se ha podido evidenciar el desarrollo e importancia de la cartografía temática, no sólo a modo de ilustración de los fenómenos y sus estructuras, sino también como método de trabajo para el análisis y la síntesis. El empleo de variados métodos cartográficos en las diferentes orientaciones de estudios del complejo rural no ha tenido aún en Cuba la máxima difusión y aprovechamiento, por lo cual no tiene la efectividad que puede lograrse de su aplicación. El estudio de elementos o fenómenos internos o externos de la agricultura, de por sí, o agrupados atendiendo a sus características, puede vincularse a métodos cartográficos determinados que resultan los más adecuados para los objetivos que se persigan. Through the evolution of geographical studies of agriculture, worldwide, it has been possible to demonstrate the development and importance of the thematic cartography, not only as an illustration of the phenomena and their structures, but also as a working method for the analysis and the synthesis. The use of various cartographic methods in the different orientations of studies of the rural complex has not yet had maximum diffusion and exploitation in Cuba, for which reason it does not have the effectiveness that can be achieved from its application. The study of elements or internal or external phenomena of agriculture, in itself, or grouped according to their characteristics, can be linked to specific cartographic methods that are the most appropriate for the objectives pursued.
